Khumbila established in 1978.
The flagship restaurant is located in Ueda-shi, Nagano pref.
We opened 2nd restaurant in Hiroo, Tokyo 15 years ago.
We were wondering if Japanese people love Nepalese cuisine, but happily, customers in Japan loves one and gives us favorable reviews.
We moved in Ebisu and reopened the restaurant.
The owner, Dilmaya, came to Japan 26 years ago.
He eagered to let everyone know his home country, Nepal and decided to started Khumbila to introduce Nepalese food culture in Japan.
The name of Khumbila is derived from the owner's beloved country.
Khumbila is one part of Himalayan which you see from Namche Bazar and it is magnificent and mysterious. People honors it as mountain where God lives through the ages.
We serve Nepalese imperial cuisine mainly as well as Nepalese home-style dishes and Tibetan cuisine. A lot of Tibetans lives near Namche Bazar. Please enjoy Tibetan Cuisine with the owner's considerable feeling toward his hometown.
For your information, the name of "Konpira-San (Konpira-Mountain)" in Shikoku, Japan comes from the word "Khumbila Mountain".
